Stone-plastic flooring is a new type of light flooring material, also known as "light flooring material". It can be used in a wide range of places such as homes, hospitals, schools, office buildings, businesses and stadiums.
With the prevalence of environmental protection, stone flooring is also becoming more and more well-known, and has the reputation of "ecological wood".
But this name is easy to cause misunderstanding, mentioning PVC people think more of plastic, many people will also confuse the stone floor and PVC pipe, plastic contains toxic substances, harmful to the human body.
However, stone flooring and plastic is not a category, PVC can also be called polyvinyl chloride, stone flooring does not contain formaldehyde, benzene and other toxic substances, will not cause harm to the human body.
Generally, according to the structure, it can be divided into 3 types: homogeneous permeable sheet, multi-layer composite sheet and semi-homogeneous permeable sheet.
02-1 Classification by structure
(1) Homogeneous permeable sheet
The top and bottom of the homogeneous permeable, i.e. from the surface to the bottom, from top to bottom, are the same colour.
(2) Multi-layer composite sheet
Formed by lamination of multi-layer structures, generally including polymer wear-resistant layer (with UV treatment), printed film layer, glass fibre layer, base layer, etc.
02-2 Classification by category
(1) General PVC flooring
Its main components include vinyl chloride powder, stone powder, plasticisers, stabilisers and carbon black. Several raw materials are very widely used industrial raw materials, and their environmental safety has been proven for many years.
(2) LVT flooring
Soft and bendable resilient flooring, the professional name for " semi-rigid sheet plastic flooring " is mainly used for industrial projects more, because it is more demanding on the flooring, need professionals to lay, so from the cost consideration, usually only suitable for large area laying. For rental rooms or offices where flatness is not required, this flooring is both good looking and affordable.
(3) SPC flooring
Stone Plactic Composite, which is a hard plastic flooring, can also be bent, but much less so than LVT flooring. It is commonly known as stone crystal flooring, Hong Kong and Taiwan is called stone plastic flooring, or plastic stone flooring, in addition to Europe and the United States, Southeast Asia is one of the most used SPC flooring areas.
The construction of the stone-plastic flooring is not as difficult as people think, the construction of the sheets is relatively easy, but it is still necessary to ensure the quality of construction, because if the quality of construction cannot be guaranteed, it will seriously affect the service life of the stone-plastic flooring.
03-1 Flooring testing
Before construction, the temperature and humidity should be detected using a temperature and humidity meter, the moisture content tester should detect the moisture content of the base, and the hardness tester should detect whether the surface hardness of the base, etc. meets the construction requirements.
Also confirm that the strength and levelness of the substrate meet the basic requirements and consider whether a suitable self-levelling is required to level the floor or increase the strength of the substrate.
03-2 Pre-treatment of the flooring
The flooring is sanded in its entirety with a floor grinder to remove residues such as paint, glue, raised and loose pieces of flooring, and any empty drums must also be removed. The floor is then vacuumed with an industrial hoover.
If there are cracks in the flooring, they can be repaired with stainless steel reinforcements and quartz sand on the surface of a polyurethane waterproofing type adhesive.
03-3 Laying of self-levelling
If the strength and flatness of the grass-roots level does not meet the basic requirements in the preliminary flooring test, it is necessary to use suitable self-levelling to level the ground or increase the strength of the grass-roots level. The specific practices are as follows.
(1) Priming
Firstly, the type of grass-roots level should be determined and then the corresponding priming process should be carried out according to the type of grass-roots level. There are 2 types of grassroots in general: absorbent and non-absorbent.
① Absorbent substrate
Absorbent grassroots such as concrete and cement mortar levelling layer, should first use multi-purpose interface treatment agent at a ratio of 1:1 diluted with water, and then closed priming.
② Non-absorbent grass-roots level
Non-absorbent grass-roots level such as tile, terrazzo, marble, etc., it is recommended to use dense type interface treatment agent for priming.
The construction of the interface treatment agent should be even and without obvious accumulation of liquid. After the surface of the interface treatment agent has air-dried, the next step of self-levelling construction can be carried out.
(2) Mixing
Pour the material into a mixing bucket with water at the required water to ash ratio and mix with a special mixer while pouring. Mix until it is a homogeneous slurry with no lumps, leave it to ripen for about 3 minutes and mix again briefly.
(3) Laying
Pour the mixed self-levelling slurry onto the constructed floor, flowing and levelling the ground on its own. Roll gently over the self-levelling surface with a special self-levelling deflating roller to avoid bubble pockmarks and interface height differences. Close the site after construction and wait for the laying of the stone plastic floor.
03-4 Laying of stone plastic flooring
The flooring should be placed on site for more than 24h so that its temperature is consistent with the construction site. When the block is laid, the two pieces of material should be close to each other and have no joints, choose the corresponding glue and scraping board suitable for the stone plastic floor.
